No one likes to be surprised by a property tax bill that is significantly higher than expected, but that is exactly what happened to Cross Creek Country Club in Mount Airy following reappraisal. The Surry County Board of Commissioners this week upheld the tax assessor’s 2025 reappraisal values for a pair of parcels of land associated with the golf course during a quasi-judicial hearing, rejecting appeals from the property owner.
