Island Lake Hosts 29th Annual Kolar Toyota ALS Fishing Tournament
ISLAND LAKE, Minn. — Island Lake was packed with over 100 boats this past weekend for the 29th annual Kolar Toyota ALS Fishing Tournament. 108 boats registered this year, each with two on board, making this year’s tournament one of the most packed yet. Anglers fished for up to six walleye, five bass, and one muskie all to see who had the biggest catch this weekend. The catch is that the event has a $300,000 goal that they wish to raise towards ALS, or also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a disease that attacks the nerve cells in muscles, brain, and spinal cord.
