MHHS’s NJROTC embarks on epic journey, competes at All High School Drill Nationals
From April 28th to May 7th, the NJROTC of Mountain Home High School took the trip of a lifetime. The Bomber Battalion’s competition teams traveled from the top of Arkansas all the way to Daytona Beach, Florida, having the honor to participate in the annual All High School Drill Nationals held on May 4th and 5th.
Man drowns at Bull Shoals
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division has confirmed the identity of a man that drowned in Bull Shoals Lake Tuesday, May 7. Larry Dilday, 75, of Forsyth was fishing from the bank and fell into the water near the mouth of Swan Creek. Dilday was pronounced deceased on the scene at 2:44 p.m. when authorities arrived.
Foundation for Aquatic Center starts to take shape
Despite a wet Spring, construction of the City of Mountain Home’s Community and Aquatic Center is moving along quickly. In a round-table meeting with community business leaders on Thursday, Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams said that the first base of concrete has been poured for the center’s gymnasium and that footings on the building have started to be installed.
It’s moving week for the Baxter County Historical Society
It’s moving week for the Baxter County Historical Society and Genealogical Society. The Society, which announced that it was moving to a different location at 300 Bomber Boulevard in Mountain Home in April, officially has the keys to their new building in hand and is in the process of packing up its historical artifacts at the Baxter County Heritage Center.

Three men are in the Taney County Jail as a woman fights for her life in a Springfield hospital. Anthony Ambriz, Ethan C. Brodie, and Conner Tuttle, all of Branson, are each facing multiple charges which could bring a life sentence.
