House of the Week: Lawrenceville Row Home Pairs City Living With Rare Outdoor Space
A block off Butler Street, this renovated row home delivers what buyers rarely find this close to the action: a private fenced grassy yard and off-street parking. Behind the classic brick facade, the main level opens to a bright living room where tall ceilings and an open staircase make the space feel twice its footprint. The large dining room seats a crowd with room to spare. The updated kitchen, with stainless appliances, leads straight out to the yard and parking pad, which is exactly where you want it when the grill is going. USW contract talks with U.S. Steel/Cleveland-Cliffs go to break
It was a couple of short labor negotiations attempts. United Steelworkers (USW) bargaining committee members are returning home after what turned out to be short attempts at again reaching new labor contract agreements with United States Steel Corp. and Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc. “Despite the flashy graphics USS sent today, their proposal hasn't changed since Sept. 30,” the USW said in an update to USW-represented members at U.S. Steel facilities. “It still includes significant increases to your healthcare costs, including more than doubling deductibles, more than tripling ER (emergency room) copays and increasing PCP (primary care physician) specialist visit and prescription drug copays.” USW Bargaining Committee members last week had returned to Pittsburgh to again meet with the companies in an effort to resolve differences and reach new labor contracts. But the USW said Tuesday there's a lot of work yet to be done. “We gave them our counterproposal on Oct. 4 and they have yet to respond,” the USW said in the update on U.S. Steel talks. “Our Bargaining Committee is returning home today, but is ready to meet as soon as USS gets moving.” USW negotiators also said bargaining with Cleveland-Cliffs is taking a break.
