‘Big news for all amigos’: Here’s when a new Midlands Mexican restaurant plans to open

A new Mexican restaurant is set to open its doors near Lake Murray.

Brothers & Beer III is coming to 2736 North Lake Drive near Irmo. That’s in the popular Murray Crossing shopping center that’s anchored by a Publix grocery store, just east of Lake Murray.

“Big news for all amigos, will see you for grand opening on Thursday May 9,” Brothers & Beer III shared on its Facebook page. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. opening day.

As the name suggests, this is the third Brothers & Beer Mexican restaurant in the Midlands. Other locations are at 205 Columbia Ave. in Lexington and at 1270 Bower Parkway in the Harbison shopping district.

The menu at Brothers & Beer features a host of Mexican favorites, including nachos, quesadillas, fajita salads, combination plates, chimichangas, burritos and more.

North Lake Drive through that section near Irmo is a bustling road, with numerous residential subdivisions and a host of businesses nearby. About 28,000 cars per day travel down that section of North Lake, per state Department of Transportation data.

There has been new activity at the Murray Crossing shopping center lately, in addition to the coming Brothers & Beer III opening. The Cheesy Pint Pizzeria recently opened in the center, and Quench It! Soda and Snacks is planning a location there.
