FOX Sports expected premier viewership for Caitlin Clark and the Iowa women's college basketball team on Saturday, hence why they put their lead play-by-play commentator, Gus Johnson, on the call.

But as the network found out, even the best of us are prone to making mistakes.

Clark, 22, and the Hawkeyes traveled to Maryland to face the Terrapins on Saturday.

During one instance, Maryland guard Brinae Alexander and the Iowa sharpshooter were battling down low.

After initially contesting the entry pass, Clark recovered to swat Alexander's shot away.

It was at this moment Johnson let out an expletive on the broadcast.

"Brinae Alexander had her s**t blocked," Johnson said.

"Her shot blocked, excuse me," he corrected himself seconds later.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, college basketball fans got a kick out of the error.

"It slipped. That's all," one wrote.

"Bruh thought he was back home on the couch for a second," a second joked.

"Nothing to say excuse me for, that’s what happened lol," another noted.

    "That's great," a fourth remarked.

Besides the one slip-up, Johnson was his usual energetic self calling the game.

In the end, Clark led Iowa to a 93-85 victory with a game-high 38 points.

She also added 12 assists and six rebounds on the scoresheet.

During the game, Fox debuted its new 'Clark Cam.'

Following one test game, it received mixed reviews.

Clark is close to becoming the women's collegiate basketball all-time leading scorer.

The guard is now at 3,462 career collegiate points, while Kelsey Plum, who holds the record, has 3,527 points.

Iowa is currently the No. 3 ranked women's college basketball team with a 21-2 record.

They'll next play Penn State on Thursday, February 8.
