Coachella Valley High School given all clear after hoax bomb threat
Coachella Valley High School was evacuated Friday morning evacuated after a suspicious device was found on campus. The device was later found to be a hoax. Cathedral City is unveiling two street signs named after local high school students on Thursday morning to celebrate their academic achievements. Mayor Mark Carnevale and city councilmembers were at the street naming ceremonies for Mt. San Jacinto High School at 8 a.m. and for Cathedral City High School at 8:30 a.m. These streets, located by the schools, are renamed annually after one of their respective students.

A surgical suite dedicated to spay and neuter operations for cats and dogs is now active at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms, officials said Thursday. “We knew we needed to increase spay and neuter capacity, and we appreciate the support from the Board of Supervisors to make that a reality,” Riverside County Department of Animal Services Director Erin Gettis said. “Everyone knows that pet overpopulation remains a big problem throughout the country.
