  • Identification cards
  • Learner permits
  • Driver’s licenses
  • CDL’s.

The Indiana BMV provides free, state-issued ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Indiana resident who is a U.S. citizen and who can provide proper documentation. Residents are required to be at least 18 years old on or before the next general, or municipal, election.

Officials with the Indiana BMV said that the following documents are required to obtain a new state ID or driver’s license:

  • Proof of identity document, like a birth certificate or passport
  • Proof of social security document, like a social security card, a pay stub or a W-2
  • Proof of lawful status, like a birth certificate or passport
  • Two documents that serve as a proof of residency, like a utility bill or bank statement dated in the last 60 days
  • If your name has been legally changed and differs from your identity documents, proof of name change must be provided to obtain a state ID or driver’s license.

All branches will have regular business hours on May 8. For more information, click here .
