IMPD: Four arrested after 20 guns, narcotics seized from near north side home

INDIANAPOLIS — A police search in a house on Indy's north side uncovered a sizable stash of guns, drugs, and money.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department used a warrant to search 126 W. 32nd Street Thurdsay. According to IMPD, they arrested four people inside and found:

• 20 firearms (15 handguns and 5 rifles)
• 538 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana
• 125 grams of suspected cocaine
• 61 grams of suspected marijuana
• 257 various scheduled pressed pills
• 21 grams of pressed pills
• 28 grams of blue powder
• $1,075 in cash
• A GMC SUV

"This is a lot for one search warrant," said Lt. Shane Foley of IMPD. "20 guns is a lot for one."

Foley said detectives had scoped out the home for weeks after receiving a tip from the neighborhood that someone was likely dealing drugs from the house.

"Often times, people call and say there's narcotics activity taking place at a house and they don't see the police," Foley said. "If you see the police, they're probably not doing a very good job because we want to do surveillance where people don't see us."

Connor Howard lives around the corner and saw police coming to the house the day of the raid.

"That house has always been problematic," Howard said. "Everyone in this neighborhood is super nice, but that's a house we try not to bother."

Howard said he's grateful for the raid because he believes the neighborhood is becoming a much better place to call home.

"We've got a bunch of different trees in our easement that Indy Beautiful planted yesterday which kind of got interrupted by the raid," Howard said. "We're getting some of the bad stuff out of the neighborhood and adding the good stuff to it."

IMPD said the four people arrested face charges such as dealing cocaine, drug possession, and possession of a machine gun.
