IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday morning for a new, adolescent residential mental health treatment center in Idaho Falls.

The Jackson House Idaho Falls Center is designed to help teens and pre-teens who are struggling with mental health. It is scheduled to open summer 2025.

Once the center opens, it will be able to provide around-the-clock psychiatric care for people ages 12 to 17 years old and connect them with the treatment they need.

The center will be able to care for up to 40 clients at a time. Nurses will provide 24-hour oversight and medication management. The clients will participate in daily skill building groups and wellness activities. They will also get individual, family, and group therapy.

“There is a big need and many, many adolescents are needing to be sent out of state in order to receive these services,” Jackson House CEO Bruce Figuered said. “So having a facility like this where there it can be closer to their family and participate in the treatment process is a really important thing."
