Perry man gets 20 years in Breathitt fentanyl case
A Perry County man was sentenced recently to serve 20 years in prison related to a Breathitt County fentanyl case. According to court documents, on April 19, 39th Circuit Court Judge Lisa H. Whisman sentenced Joseph Thomas, 37, of North Main Street Hazard, to serve 20 years on a charge of aggravated trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 28 grams of fentanyl.

HAZARD, KY. (WYMT) - Some intense downpours already this morning with a damaging thunderstorm wind and a flash flooding threat to play out later today. After our round of shower and thunderstorm activity this morning, skies will turn partly sunny. As temperatures warm into the low and mid 80s, this will be the “fuel” to supplement all the other elements in the atmosphere for another round of shower and thunderstorm activity late this afternoon into tonight. This next round continues to look like a widespread damaging wind and flash flood threat. Large hail be possible as well as a few “spin up” tornadoes as we have been highlighted in a “Level 3 - Enhanced Risk” for severe weather by the Storm Prediction Center.
