Perry County Fiscal Court Announces Community Cleanup from June 1st-3rd
The Perry County Fiscal Court announced that June 1st-3rd will be community cleanup day for the communities of Wendell Airport, Lower Second Creek and Glomawr Stormking. Officials with the Perry County Fiscal Court said they will provide trash bags and gloves to those participating in the cleanup and will only collect bagged garbage during this cleanup, which means they will not accept appliances, furniture or tires.

ARH Foundation holding raffle for Mercedes-Benz convertible
The ARH Foundation for Healthier Communities will raffle off a 2016 Mercedes-Benz SLK 300 2D on June 30, thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous benefactor. The ARH Foundation, according to a statement from ARH, has worked diligently this past year to help the victims of the catastrophic flooding that devastated several Eastern Kentucky counties in July 2022. Although the ARH Foundation has been able to help more than 20,000 individuals and distributed 6.5 million pounds of supplies and over $1.1 million in funding, much more must be done. Many families are still living in temporary housing or in homes still in need of repairs.

Letcher Co Man Arrested on DUI and Drugs
Austin Endicott, 23, of Whitesburg was arrested Saturday night after a traffic stop on Highway 15 in Hazard. One state trooper made the stop and believed Endicott was under the influence. Once they got Endicott out of the car, police saw a gun laying out in the open in the car. A search of the car led to the discovery of more than one pound of meth, cocaine and a large amount of money.

Drug bust in Hazard uncovers methamphetamine and pills
HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - The Hazard Police Department executed a search warrant Tuesday that uncovered several bags of drugs. Officials were sent to an apartment on Wesley Way to look for stolen property and found two bags and two containers of methamphetamine, two bags of pills, three glass meth pipes, a scale and almost $1,000 in cash.
