Perry woman facing child endangerment charge
A Perry County woman is facing a child endangerment charge after police responded to a call from social services. According to a citation written by Hazard Police Department Officer Michael Ritchie, he responded to the call April 11 at Hazard ARH after the social services personnel reported there were two people in a room at the medical center who allegedly had methamphetamine in their possession.

Parent Fair held at Hazard High School
Hazard High School hosted its annual Parent Fair on Tuesday, April 23, at the school football field, welcoming community members to explore summer programs while showcasing numerous community partners, including Save the Children, Partners for Rural Impact, Mountain Comprehensive Care, HCTC, ARH and many more. Attendees of the event were welcomed to distributed free supplies, gift bags and served food and drinks. The event featured a raffle, offering gift baskets and coolers, with a grand prize of three bicycles. "Every 15 minutes we give some prizes away, at the end the grand prizes are the bicycles. Our teachers make some of the baskets, Camp Nathaniel made a basket, and the district purchased the bicycles; everybody pitches in," said Hazard Independent Schools Superintendent Sondra Combs.
