Utility district marks strongest annual meeting vote since formation
Credit the recent school budget revote for the bump, but the Edward Farrar Utility District recently logged its strongest election turnout since it was formed in 2017. There was only one candidate per office on the ballot, so no contests to stir up public interest. But 144 voters cast ballots to make it the best-attended election to date. Early ballots were available as local residents voted on the Harwood Unified Union School District budget on and before April 30. Ballots for the water and wastewater district were also available at that time.

Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS), Waterbury Public Works, and other local highway departments. Work is under way now on Guptil Road on Bridge 4 (actually the third bridge from Rt. 100 heading to Waterbury Center) just south of the Kneeland Flats Road intersection. The town road crew asks motorists to please slow down traveling through the narrow work zone. The road will remain open during the rehab project which is expected to take until mid-July to be completed.

Stowe Country Club, ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 1 public-access course in Vermont, is slated to undergo a two-year renovation by golf architect Beau Welling.
