Some Lanes on LIE to Close for Cleaning Project

The State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) will be closed to traffic between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the following days and locations in the Town of Huntington,  to facilitate a bridge cleaning project:

• Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7: Eastbound at Exit 49 (State Route 110);
• Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9: Eastbound between Exit 49 and Exit 50 (Bagatelle Road);
• Friday, May 10: Eastbound between Exit 50 and Exit 51 (State Route 231).

Traffic will be detoured onto the service road during the closures. All closures will depend on the weather.
