Father bitten in bus stop fight with another dad who had a gun, police say
MARSHFIELD, Mass. — Three Massachusetts schools briefly enacted a shelter-in-place security protocol on Wednesday morning while police responded to a nearby fight. Marshfield Public Schools said the complex on Forest Street involving Marshfield High School, Furnace Brook Middle School and Martinson Elementary School was under precaution for about 25 minutes. District officials said the protocol was initiated at approximately 8:15 a.m.

Firefighters in South Shore Massachusetts hockey league save player in cardiac emergency
PEMBROKE, Mass. — Two South Shore firefighters who play in an amateur hockey league jumped into action to save the life of another player who suffered a cardiac emergency. Off-duty firefighters Brian Oriola, of the Braintree Fire Department, and Scott Hill, of the Duxbury Fire Department, were at the Hobomock Arena in Pembroke at approximately 8 p.m. when the other player collapsed.
