    Humansville woman dies in ATV crash in St. Clair County

    ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mo. — A woman from Humansville, Missouri was killed in a single-vehicle crash three miles west of Collins, Missouri early Saturday, May 4, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP)

    The MSHP crash report says that 22-year-old Ariel Culbertson was a passenger in a 2017 Polaris Razor driven east on private property by 25-year-old Brandon Damewood of Humansville when the crash occurred.

    At 5:25 a.m. Saturday, Damewood lost control of the ATV, causing it to overturn. Culbertson was pronounced dead by the deputy coroner at 5:46 a.m.

    MSHP says Damewood was not injured in the crash and was later arrested for a DWI felony charge at 6:41 a.m. He has since been released from the St. Clair County Jail.

    The next of kin have been notified of Culbertson’s passing. This is the 28th fatal crash for Troop D in 2024.
