Lehman's Farmhouse and Brewery emphasizes farm-to-table meals
BUCHANAN — Farm-to-table restaurants are a concept that have recently gained more popularity as Americans begin to ask the million-dollar question: Where does their food come from? According to a survey conducted in 2025 by the International Food Information Council , 59% of Americans find importance in knowing where their food comes from, and more than half of that percentage also prioritizes food that is consistently available locally. At Lehman’s Orchard Brewery & Farmhouse , owner Steve Lecklider provides his customers with the opportunity not only to pick fresh, herbicide-free fruit at his orchard in Niles, but to also stop by his brewery and taste the same fruit in different ways. “I always like to say we raise fruit like it used to taste,” Lecklider said. “We’ve always kind of done that.” Peach brandy, apple cider, strawberry wine and juniper gin are just a few among dozens of drink options at Lehman’s made intentionally with the fruit grown in the orchard. And as the drink list has grown, so has the number of dishes customers can pair with them, Lecklider said Bringing old to the new Lehman’s Orchard in Niles has been in Steve Lecklider’s family for almost 100 years.
