The rise of Tank Dell and a rookie's journey in the Texans' offense

The way Tank Dell was integrated into the Texans' offense impressed Seth Payne.

It was not a given that Dell's game would translate in the NFL so quickly, but he figured it out.

"There were times early in training camp where he was getting shoved to the ground at the snap," Payne said. "He had to really learn about how to use his assets versus NFL press coverage and he figured it out. Guys that are his size have to get off the ball, get away from contact but still stay on time, in rhythm within this offense. That's a really hard thing to do as a rookie.

"That's what's really exciting about him. He's in a timing and rhythm offense as a smaller guy and the Texans didn't have to rely on gadgetry to get him open."
