HPD investigates shooting death of woman at senior apartment complex

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — The investigation continues after a woman was found shot and killed at the Treemont senior living apartments in west Houston on Saturday afternoon.

The woman has been identified as 74-year-old Carol Webber. Her body was found on the floor of her apartment, located at 2501 Westerland Drive, around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. She suffered a single gunshot wound.

Treemont residents told our news partners that this is the first time they have heard of a shooting, and management has not notified them.

Police are looking for leads as there is no known motive or suspect. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
