HOUSTON WOMAN ARRESTED SATURDAY
A Houston woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after she apparently tried to cash a fraudulent check. Brenham Police report that Saturday afternoon at 12:45, Officers responded to the 2000 block of South Market Street in reference to fraud. The complainant reported that a female and male passed fraudulent checks. Initial investigation revealed Trudy Ann Vaughn, 26 of Houston, was in possession and attempted to cash a fraudulent check. Vaughn was placed into custody for Forgery of Financial Instrument greater than $750 and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Charges upgraded against HISD elementary school teacher accused of abusing multiple students
HOUSTON – A misdemeanor charge has been upgraded to a felony for a former Houston Independent School District teacher after he was accused of abusing multiple students. In February, 45-year-old Manuel Ponce, who taught at HISD’s Sutton Elementary School, was charged with five felonies and one misdemeanor, all related to sexual abuse of children.
