Overnight Shelbyville fire leads to fatality
An overnight fire has resulted in a fatality. The Shelbyville Fire Department was dispatched to 1118 Parker Avenue at minight for a residential fire with unknown occupants inside the residence. Within minutes of arrival, Shelbyville firefighters located a male in the residence who was in cardiac arrest and removed the victim.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy monitoring traffic on the interstate around 7:45 Tuesday evening spotted a vehicle with one operating headlight that was going 88 mph.
Two car chases keep state police busy Tuesday morning
SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA – Indiana State Police (ISP) troopers were busy Tuesday morning chasing down suspects in vehicles in two separate pursuit incidents. A stolen Dodge Charger, driven by Nicholas N. Lewis, 20, of Indianapolis, led troopers and officers from multiple agencies on a pursuit that started at around 7:30 a.m., on southbound I-65 near Seymour. The chase ended on US 31 in Scott County when Lewis crashed into the back of a Crothersville Police vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Three Arrested in Columbus Drug Investigation Following Overdose Call
COLUMBUS, Ind. — A narcotics investigation by the Columbus Police Department (CPD) has led to the arrest of three individuals on drug-related charges. The incident began early Saturday morning when CPD officers responded to a report of a drug overdose at a residence in the 2200 block of McKinley Avenue at around 12:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive person who was not breathing. Officers administered life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. The individual eventually regained consciousness and was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment.

Man charged with murder in Bartholomew County
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Bartholomew County Prosecutor Lindsey Holden-Kay charged Corbin Hippensteel, 30, with murder after a recent shooting death in Columbus, Indiana. On Monday, officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Joseph Cox Court on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found Alejandro Flores, 54, of Columbus, dead inside the residence.

The investigation continues into a fatal accident on Hartstrait Road. According to authorities, witnesses to the one car accident gave updates to Monroe County Central Emergency Dispatch just before 1:00 last Saturday afternoon. The Ellettesville Fire Department and Monroe Fire District responded to the scene. After they extingised the car fire, they found the remains of one person inside the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Monroe County Coroners Office to confirm the identity of the victim and the cause of the accident.
