Hoover native featured in upcoming documentary on the Blue Angels

HOOVER, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The documentary “The Blue Angels” will bring the wonder and spectacle of the iconic flight team to audiences this month.

The film follows “the veterans and newest class of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps flight squadron tackling intense training and a season of heart-stopping aerial artistry,” according to its description.

U.S. Marine Corps Major William Huckeba, a native of Hoover, is among fellow members of the squadron featured in the film.

“My upbringing in Hoover, Alabama, was a whirlwind of church, sports, school and work,” Huckeba stated in an interview with the U.S. Navy. “I was always on the lookout for new challenges, and time was my most precious resource. I soon realized that my attention was limited, and I could only excel at a few things at once. This realization led me to rely on teams, trust in their collective strength and strive for excellence. My parents often cautioned me about taking on too much, but it was these experiences that taught me the true value of teamwork, a lesson that has been instrumental in my career.”

The movie will be released in IMAX Theaters on May 17 and available on streaming via Amazon Prime on May 23.
