Alabama nonprofit Magic Moments celebrates 40th anniversary

HOOVER, Ala. ( WIAT ) — An Alabama nonprofit hosted its 40th anniversary party at Veterans Park in Hoover on Sunday.

Magic Moments, which strives to provide non-medical opportunities to children with chronic life-threatening or acute life-altering conditions, celebrated its anniversary with a carnival-style celebration. Sandy Naramore, the executive director of Magic Moments, said giving back to children is a special moment.

“So many people don’t realize what these children go through and their families,” Naramore said. “And so it is such an honor that we are able to provide for them even as we say for one moment. Let them forget about the treatment, let them forget about the trials that they have gone through and let them try to be a normal child for one day, for one week, whatever it takes.”
