Park district purchase 111 acres for a conservation project
SHARON TWP. — The Medina County Park District has purchased 111 acres of land in Sharon Township with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's support. Koontz Creek Conservation Area, between Fixler and Koontz roads, was purchased from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland for $1.1 million. Parks Director Nate Eppink said discussions about the purchase began in 2019. He said the diocese gave the park district time to put a grant application together and time to close and protect the property.
