Council Appoints Nuisance Appeal Committee Members
Kevin Krull from Jones Group brought good news to the Minden City Council during the May 6 regular meeting. Numbers for the City’s wind and hail insurance deductible buyback came back ready for the council’s approval. The premium, which was close to that from last year, is good through April 5, 2025 so that insurance and wind and hail deductible buyback can be renewed at the same time next year. The council approved the wind and hail insurance deductible buyback in the amount of $13,163.53.
Great Kids, Better Families: St. Cecilia Graduates Four Impactful Signees
HASTINGS, Neb. — It’s a group that has been apart of great success. A group that signed a month ago, and a group that graduated last Sunday. St. Cecilia’s athletic signing class, Jenson Anderson, Thomas Thomas, Quinn Rosno, and Dawson Kissinger, all signed to play college sports, all staying at home in Nebraska.
Adams Central High School to upgrade Band Room facilities
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Adams Central Jr./Sr. High School Band students will soon have a newly remodeled facility to practice in when they return to school for band camp. The facility will be undergoing several upgrades, including new technology, a new ceiling, fresh paint, new flooring and new storage areas for equipment.
Minden FFA Receives Grant
The Minden FFA Chapter received a $5,000 grant for its greenhouse project from Great Plains Communications on May 8. The Chapter has been fundraising for the past three years for the project. They have raised $40,000 of the $60,000 needed and will focus on further fundraising this summer. Their goal is to be able to begin construction during next school year. One dead following Sunday's accident on I-80 outside of Kearney
Buffalo County - One dead following Sunday's accident on I-80 outside of Kearney. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, at approximately 3:15 pm Sunday, a semi was parked on the eastbound shoulder of Interstate 80 near mile marker 282. A Kia sedan was traveling eastbound when it lost control and struck the semi trailer on the shoulder.
Lonowski, Smith moves forward in District 33 race
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings Senator Steve Halloran has reached his term limits and after the Novemeber election there will be a new senator for District 33. That race was in the spotlight during Nebraska’s primary election, as Dan Lonowski, Michelle Smith, Paul Hamelink, and Joshua Frederick ran to represent the district in Lincoln.
