Bearfoot Studios opens in Hollister
A new fitness studio has opened in Hollister and offers a variety of opportunities for those interested in healthy living. Bearfoot Studios, located at 215 Gage Drive Suite C, offers classes including Jiu Jitsu, yoga and group fitness. Co-Owner Angel Adams told Branson Tri-Lakes News she taught her first yoga class in the new location on the morning of May 13.
Twinkle Market celebrates new location
Community members recently gathered on historic Downing Street in Hollister to welcome a familiar face to its new location. Twinkle Market, a unique home decor shop previously located just a few doors down from its new location, celebrated the opening of its new location at 15B Downing Street with a ribbon cutting on the afternoon of Friday, May 10. Hollister Mayor Lamar Patton put the celebration in motion by sharing his appreciation for the business.
First same-sex marriage license granted in Arkansas 10 years ago
CARROLL COUNTY, Arkansas — It's been 10 years since Arkansas's first same-sex marriage license was granted to two Fort Smith women who say they will never forget that day. The Carroll County Clerk was the first in the state to grant the licenses after a Pulaski County judge lifted a ban a few days before.
Motorcycle rider dies after accident
A Blue Eye woman died after a motorcycle accident on Thursday, May 9, on Arkansas Highway 23 near Eureka Springs. According to a report written by Arkansas State Police Trooper Brandon Warren, Nicole M. Decker, 42, of Blue Eye was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson southbound on Arkansas 23 at 4:03 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve at Carroll County Road 266. The motorcycle traveled across County Road 266 and off the right side of the road. The center of the motorcycle struck a tree and the motorcycle came to rest.
Hidden camera identifies county park vandals
A recent break in at the Taney County Fairgrounds resulted in damages to the office, concession and stage area. Items were also stolen that are required to host events. Forsyth Police Chief Patrick Gray stated the property has been hit by vandals in the past. Last month’s mischief was caught on a hidden camera. The video helped a great deal in identifying the suspects.

STONE COUNTY, Mo. – A Kimberling City man crashed into a tree on Tuesday. TANEY COUNTY, Mo. – A tornado was spotted at Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Hollister Monday afternoon. The tornado briefly touched ground around 3:50 p.m. damaging trees and flipping over golf carts. But, unlike many sports that grow through youth programs and over time make their way up to adult professional league status, pickleball took off in retirement communities, has become a major professional sport and is slowly making its way down into high schools. Yes, kids have been playing pickleball in middle school PE classes for years, but there have been few pathways for those who want to compete more seriously, and virtually no official high school leagues.
Milton declares Branson Military Appreciation Month
Branson Mayor Larry Milton announced at the Tuesday, May 14 Board of Aldermen meeting the city would be declaring May as Branson Military Appreciation Month. In addition to the proclamation for the current year, Milton said the city would be making the declaration in May every year.

Boys & Girls Club receives substantial donation
The Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks received a donation from a former Branson Alderman. Bill Skains unsuccessfully ran for an Alderman position with the city of Branson in the April election. After his run, the remaining funds in his campaign were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks.
