HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — People flocked to downtown Holland Saturday to watch the Tulip Time Volksparade.

The parade kicked off at 2 p.m. and ran for two hours. Organizers say it’s one of the longest parade routes in the state.

It featured dozens of bands from local middle and high schools, elaborate floats and members of the News 8 team, including Brian Sterling, Amber Krycka and Chief Meteorologist Ellen Bacca with her little girl, Piper.

“I love the parades. I’ve gone to the parades my whole life,” attendee Carol Spykerman said. “I love the sense of community. I love seeing everyone enjoy the festivities.”
