Clearwater hit-and-run victim dies, suspect to face upgraded charges
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The 80-year-old man hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Clearwater on Monday has died, according to police. Investigators say Ernest Coluzzi was hit by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while riding a mobility scooter at the intersection of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Hampton Road. Paramedics rushed Coluzzi to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon.
Hudson Man Held Without Bond After Allegedly Threatening Driver with AK-47
JONESVILLE, FLa.- Eddie Eugene Gammage II, 28, of Hudson, FL, was arrested on May 14th on a warrant stemming from an April 22nd incident in Jonesville. Gammage is accused of threatening a woman with an AK-47. According to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, the victim reported that she was driving south on NW 143rd Street on April 22nd around 5:27 PM when a blue SUV began tailgating her. She stated that she attempted to slow down and turn into a Publix parking lot to distance herself from the vehicle, but the SUV blocked her. The victim then pulled into a Circle K, where the suspect allegedly exited the vehicle, yelled racial slurs, and threatened to kill her.
