CHICAGO — A nine-time convicted felon is accused of violently robbing two women at gunpoint while on pretrial release for a felony drug charge. Octavious Crockett, 31, has been awaiting trial on two counts of possession of heroin with intent to distribute since March 7. That’s when Chicago police said they saw him yelling “blows, blows!” a common solicitation for heroin sales, in the 800 block of North St. Louis. The cops allegedly found 24 baggies of suspected heroin in his waistband. Judge Susana Ortiz released him from custody the next day.
Parents file battery report after fight at Field Stevenson School
A fight unfolded behind Field Stevenson School April 26 after a boy and his friend got into a verbal argument with a group of girls, according to a Forest Park police report. In a video that police watched that was provided by the school, the boy addresses one of the girls, who pushes him. Then he runs at her, and the girl hits him in the face, according to the police report. Officials said the police were called by parents, and a parent of a victim asked for a police report to be made. No one was charged, and disciplinary action will be left to the school, the report said.

Law firm representing village of Dolton resigns from pending cases
The law firm representing south suburban Dolton in at least 19 lawsuits in Cook County and federal court is planning to withdraw from the cases due to lack of payment. NBC Chicago has obtained a copy of the April 24 letter sent to the village. The Del Galdo Law Group of Berwyn said by May 8 it will file motions to withdraw from the cases, which include jail suicides and officer-involved shootings.
