HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 32-year-old man and 30-year-old woman have been arrested and charged by Big Island police for the violent kidnapping of a 31-year-old man.
The victim reported to police that in the very early hours of Sunday, he was supposed to meet with the 30-year-old woman at a lounge on Hilo.
Upon his arrival to their meet-up spot, the 30-year-old woman was waiting for him outside.
He got into her vehicle and they sat there for a while before the 32-year-old male opened the car door and assaulted the victim.
Then the 32-year-old male reportedly went to the victims car and rummaged through it and slashed all four tires.
After finishing up with the victim’s car, the 32-year-old male returned to the 30-year-old woman’s vehicle and allegedly took the victim against his will.
The 32-year-old male drove the victim to multiple locations, according to police, before finally ending up at the area of Stainback Highway and North Kulani Road where the victim was forcefully taken out of the vehicle and assaulted by the male with a police-like collapsible baton.
He also reported being threated with a firearm.
The male and female suspects then left the scene, leaving the victim severely injured and alone.
The female suspect turned herself in to police, and the male was later found by South Kohala officers.
He was served a search warrant for his vehicle which resulted in the discovery of nearly 45 grams of fentanyl powder (broken down for distribution), 137 fentanyl pills, nearly 35 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 32 grams of cocaine, as well as a scale with methamphetamine residue, zip-packets (commonly used for drug distribution), and over $1,900 in U.S. currency.
It was also discovered that the female and male suspects had rented a room at a resort which was also served a search warrant and was found to have approximately one pound of methamphetamine, un-serialized firearm parts, miscellaneous ammunition, and nearly $5,000 US currency.
The victim was treated at the Hilo Medical Center, and later released.
