BOPU seeks to increase water and sewer rates again
CHEYENNE — The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities is seeking to raise rates for water and sewer services in 2025 by 10% and 8%, respectively. On average, this price hike would up monthly rates by between $2 and $9 for the typical residential consumer.

153rd Airlift Wing responds to suspicious package at front gate of Guard base
CHEYENNE – Security forces responded to a suspicious package Monday morning at the front gate of the 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard, in Cheyenne. “We are working through our mitigation efforts and are awaiting on additional information,” said Col. Barry Deibert, commander of the 153 Airlift Wing, in a news release. “I do want to take a moment to reiterate our commitment to the safety of the members and our community and thank security forces airmen for their initial detection and response.” The situation is still developing, and updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Cheyenne Fire Rescue requesting funding for new thermal cameras, overtime budget
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne Fire Rescue is requesting a total of $14,627,656 for the upcoming 2025 fiscal year. On Thursday, Cheyenne Fire Rescue Chief John Kopper discussed his department’s funding requests for the fiscal year 2025 budget. This year, the city has proposed a $147.6 million budget. McKenzie Millar has caught on for Cheyenne East
CHEYENNE — It took McKenzie Millar a handful of games to find her footing in varsity softball. The sophomore played early for Cheyenne East last spring, but it wasn’t until her eighth game that her bat finally started to come around.
