    HILLSBORO ART WALK — Join Hillsboro Parks & Recreation on the first Tuesday of the month to explore the city’s Cultural Arts District. Visit local galleries, hear live music and indulge in local eats and activities starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 and June 4. More: hillsboro-oregon.gov

    TIGARD SHINING STARS — The 50th annual Tigard Shining Stars Community Awards Celebration will recognize community members for their excellence in local leadership. Businesses, individuals and scholarship winners will be honored starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the Embassy Suites Washington Square, 9000 S.W. Washington Square Road.     ST. JOHNS BIZARRE — The 15th annual St. Johns Bizarre includes an eclectic lineup of national and local musicians, a craft fair with about 140 local vendors, delicious food and beverages (including beer) family-friendly offerings and, of course, the 59th St. Johns Parade. It takes place 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, May 11 in St. Johns, at North Lombard Street and Philadelphia Avenue. More: Event page on Facebook.     BREWS, FUN, FUNDRAISING — The Canby Brewfest will be held Friday-Saturday, May 10-11 at the Clackamas County Event Center, 694 N.E. Fourth Ave. in Canby. The event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 10, and 2 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. There will be more than 40 beverages on tap, as well as a wide array of food trucks and live music on the grounds. The event is also a fundraiser for the fairground’s new multipurpose building.     MOTHER’S DAY TEA — The historic Newell Pioneer Village will hold a Mother’s Day tea from 1 to 3 p.m. May 11 at the facility adjacent to Champoeg State Heritage Area south of Newberg. Tea will be served on Rebecca’s Tea Porch, which looks out over the park. Seating is limited, so making reservations early is suggested.     FAMILY BIKE RIDE — The Beaverton Downtown Association is celebrating Bike Month with a 1.5-mile family Best Day Family Bike Ride through the heart of Beaverton. The trek, starting at the Beaverton Farmers Market, will stop along BDA’s bike racks and repair stations, features a live demonstration on how to use the repair stations. A $5 donation is requested ahead of the free bike license plate decorating, bike ride, safety repair demo and after-party at the market, starting at 11 a.m. on May 11. More: downtownbeaverton.org

    BRIGHT HEART CIRCUS — Kendall and Allie of Bright Heart Circus will bring the energy and captivate the whole family with circus acts, magic, hula hoops and more.     AURORA FUN — Bring mom to Aurora, is the theme for Saturday, May 11, for a day of shopping, bakery treats, lunch and visit a winery or the local museum.
