RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Derrek Brave Heart is accused of shooting and killing a man outside of Family Dollar on Haines Avenue following an argument in February. Brave Heart appeared in court Thursday for an evidentiary hearing in which multiple witnesses testified against him. These witnesses included an engaged couple who witnessed the shooting, the police officer who arrested Brave Heart, and Brave Heart’s ex-girlfriend.

AMA Pro Racing continues efforts to host flat track motorcycle races in downtown Sturgis
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - AMA Pro Racing is making a final push to host flat track races in downtown Sturgis at the end of the 2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Last month, Sturgis voters overwhelmingly voted against the city’s agreement with AMA to host the race with a count of 1,031 to 437. Despite this decision, AMA was granted an extension by Fox Broadcasting to come to a new agreement by the end of May. AMA has submitted a new proposal to be considered by the city’s leadership.
