City of Chillicothe to increase water rates this summer
CHILLICOTHE, Ill. (WMBD) — The City of Chillicothe announced that it will increase its water rates this summer. According to a message to residents from Chillicothe City Council, the rate increase was unavoidable due to a state law that requires the water department to “stand alone financially,” which means the water department’s expenses must be paid by the money from the city’s water bills.
