The two teams were tied at 1 midway through the first quarter, then Angelina Borrelli scored to put the Monarchs in front where they would stay for good. Mercy scored three goals in the final minute of the first quarter to take a 5-1 lead, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

The most goals scored this season by a Section V team was 22 by Canandaigua against Brockport on March 27th. Pal-Mac put up 21 on Gananda/Marion on April 12th, while Canandaigua also scored 20 versus Clarence on April 20th.
