    Police ID two women killed in Henrico crash

    HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Two people, identified as Hilda Nunez, 24, of Henrico, and Lizbeth Alvarez, 20, of Chesterfield, were killed in a crash along South Laburnum Avenue and New Market Road in eastern Henrico on Thursday morning, according to Henrico Police. The crash was reported at about 6:17 a.m.

    "The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the box truck was traveling south on Laburnum Avenue when the SUV, traveling north, attempted to make a left turn onto New Market Road (Route 5) in front of the box truck but was struck on the passenger side. Both vehicles traveled through the intersection and ended up in the woodline," a Henrico Police spokesperson
    said. "The SUV was occupied by an adult male driver and two adult female passengers, the two passengers were pronounced deceased at the scene."

    Both drivers were treated and released from the hospital and charges are pending against both drivers.
