Galesburg mayor says he’s seeking second term
GALESBURG, Ill. (KWQC) - Peter Schwartzman Mayor of Galesburg announced he will be seeking a second term as mayor. “Over the past few months I have spoken to many Galesburg residents and, based on those conversations and many accomplishments of my first three years, I am very much looking forward to the prospects of a second term as mayor. I believe the future for Galesburg is very bright and I hope to play a part in making it ‘the best city to live in.’ I thank all city residents and city staff that work diligently to make Galesburg a great city to live in. Raising the bar: Metamora basketball player advances to IHSA state track meet in four events
GALESBURG — Nick Walker leaped over the high jump bar and landed in the IHSA state finals field Thursday in the Class 2A boys track and field Galesburg Sectional. The Metamora senior turned his vertical leap on the basketball court into a sectional high jump championship, while also showing the horizontal chops to go the distance to a third-place finish and state-qualifying performance in the long jump.

Knox College students joined college students across the country protesting for an end to violence in Palestine. “We refuse to be complicit in genocide, and we must take action to stop it.
