Council Appoints Nuisance Appeal Committee Members
Kevin Krull from Jones Group brought good news to the Minden City Council during the May 6 regular meeting. Numbers for the City’s wind and hail insurance deductible buyback came back ready for the council’s approval. The premium, which was close to that from last year, is good through April 5, 2025 so that insurance and wind and hail deductible buyback can be renewed at the same time next year. The council approved the wind and hail insurance deductible buyback in the amount of $13,163.53.

Minden FFA Receives Grant
The Minden FFA Chapter received a $5,000 grant for its greenhouse project from Great Plains Communications on May 8. The Chapter has been fundraising for the past three years for the project. They have raised $40,000 of the $60,000 needed and will focus on further fundraising this summer. Their goal is to be able to begin construction during next school year.
