The Hayward Hurricanes girls soccer team won their third game of the season as they edged the Osceola Chieftains 3-2 Saturday May 11 at Heidi Friermood Field.

Abi Beckermann scored late in the first half with an assist from Cassidy Judy. Abi stayed composed and played the ball to the right hand corner to get on the board before the buzzer.

The second half continued to be a tough fight between Hayward and Osceola. The Chieftains were awarded a free kick outside of the box and were able to put it in the back side of the net.

To kick things up a notch, the. Canes took Kelsey Carothers out of the back to give Osceola's defense a run for their money. The move proved to be advantageous, as Kelsey put two goals in the back of the net from through balls from her teammates.

The Chieftains were able to squeak another one on the board with less than two minutes on the clock.

“All around, the girls played tough and hard the entire game,” said Coach Anne Kriskovich. We hope to continue that same momentum into our game into upcoming games.”
