HHS boys golfers continue in action

The Hayward Hurricanes boys golf team hosted their 24-team junior varsity invitational Friday April 26 at Hayward Golf course.

Hayward placed first in the small school division and Amery was second. River Falls won the large school division and Eau Claire Memorial was second.

Jaxson Fizel of Spooner was the top individual in the small school division. Hayward’s George Taylor placed third, Kaydon Kennell was fifth and Fred Principe sixth.

EC Memorial’s Thomas Fey was the top individual in the large school division, followed by Memorial’s Spenccer Resnick and Menomonie’s Wes Miller.

On Wednesday April 24, the Hurricanes varsity placed eighth out of 15 teams in the Barron Invitational at Rolling Oaks, shooting 346 for 18 holes.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser junior Conner Hanson was the meet medalist with a 70.

Sophomore Liam Aldoff paced the Canes with a round of 79. Gavin Hand shot 86, Guy Swenson 89, Carter Roach 92, and Keegan Walsh 92.
