Former SPD officer sentenced to probation, restitution
SHREVEPORT, La. -- Former Shreveport Police Department officer Jeffrey L. Peters, 55, of Shreveport, was sentenced Thursday to probation and restitution after defrauding the city by falsifying time sheets. U.S. District Judge Maurice Hicks Jr. set the restitution amount at $13,084. He also placed Peters on three years of probation.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The recent arrests of two women on charges of child desertion also prompted a stern admonition from the Shreveport Police Department. Officers found a 10-month-old child left unattended in a vehicle May 13 in the 4300 block of Illinois Avenue. They arrested 23-year-old Shawnetterian Pearson on one count of child desertion.
