Two wanted after man shot in face in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, Miss. ( WHLT ) – Two suspects are wanted after a man was shot in the face in Hattiesburg.

Police said they’re searching for 21-year-old Pierre Russell and 27-year-old Michael Russell, both of Hattiesburg. Pierre Russell is wanted for one count of attempted murder, and Michael Russell is wanted for accessory after the fact.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Avenue.

Police said they discovered that an altercation between a group of individuals took place, and one victim was shot in the face. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Jackson for further treatment. He is in stable condition.

Hattiesburg police previously arrested 24-year-old Damond Harvey, of Hattiesburg, in connection to the shooting on Monday, April 22. He was charged with one count of attempted murder and was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
