Yarmouth Considers Joining Regional Emergency Call Center
Yarmouth officials say the town has an opportunity to join nearby communities in developing a Regional Emergency Communications Center for incoming 911 calls. Following a feasibility study, the Towns of Sandwich, Barnstable, and the Hyannis Fire District approved an agreement to seek additional state 911 funding to design and operate a joint emergency communications center.

The iconic Sandwich Boardwalk is open to the public again, after months of reconstruction. The walkway over a saltmarsh at Cape Cod Bay was already in need of repairs when a Jan. 31 2022 nor'easter demolished about a third of it. Town meeting had approved an $8 million capital debt exclusion in 2018 that included boardwalk repairs, and a $2.6 million infrastructure bond was expected to be paired with American Rescue Plan Act money.
