    H.S. ROUNDUP: St. John Paul II baseball clinches C&I Lighthouse title and playoff spot

    With a 13-3 win over Monomoy on Tuesday, the St. John Paul II baseball team clinched a spot in the MIAA state tournament and the Cape and Islands Lighthouse League title.

    Hunter Alten pitched four innings and struck out eight, as Drew Richards came in for relief and threw two scoreless innings for JPII.

    Logan Our went 4-for-5 (one double, two triples, one walk, four RBIs, two stolen bases), while Brady Meyer was 3-for-3 (one double, one triple, two RBIs). Henry Roy, Max Ingraham and Brandon Gomes each had two RBIs, while Tim Cronin and Brian Mancinelli each recorded two hits.

    In other high school action:

    Baseball

    Cape Tech 21, Norfolk Aggie 3 : The Crusaders (10-7) qualified for the MIAA state tournament with their third straight win. Mason Tomlinson pitched four innings, struck out eight, gave up four hits and allowed one run for Cape Tech.

    The Crusaders had 25 hits, and 13 stolen bases. Matt Riker went 3-for-3 (three RBIs, three runs scored), Tomlinson was 2-for-3 (one walk, three RBIs, two runs), Trevor Ryone finished 3-for-4 (two runs, two RBIs), and Jake Ambronsini ended the game 2-for-3 (four RBIs, two runs scored).

    Case 4, Bourne 1 : The Canalmen (3-11) hav dropped their last four games. Dante Migliaccio pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs, while Bryce Young had two hits for Bourne.

    Softball

    Norfolk Aggie 22, Cape Tech 12 : Alivia Mitchell had three hits and three RBIs for the Crusaders (3-12).

    Nantucket 22, Barnstable 6 : The Whalers (5-5) have won three straight as they beat the Red Hawks (2-12).

    Bishop Stang 2, Bourne 1 : The Lady Canalmen (6-10) came up just short on the road. Jadyn Morrell pitched six innings and gave up eight hits, no earned runs and three walks for Bourne. Olivia Meda, Liv Ruginski and Jill Allen had hits for Bourne.

    Girls Tennis

    Cape Cod Academy 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 0 : The Seahawks (11-4) have won eight of their last nine matches with a sweep over the Dolphins (0-13). Lili Shanahan defeated Tristin Bradford in first singles (6-0, 6-0), Julia Mccaffery beat Kelsang Gurung in second singles (6-1, 6-1), and Jemma Meadows won third singles (6-0, 6-1) over Williana Thompson for Cape Cod Academy.

    Yoana Dokleva and Molly Lowery defeated Maddy Burgess and Maddy Stewart in first doubles (6-0, 6-0), while Taylor Bodurtha and Kaleigh Howe beat Willasia Thompson and Aimme Teague in second doubles (6-0, 6-0).

    Monomoy 5, Bourne 0: The Sharks (10-4) have won eight of their last nine matches as they swept the Lady Canalmen (7-7). Tatiana Malone defeated Zoe Ridi in first singles (6-2, 6-3), Lilly Gould beat McKinley Wenzel in second singles (6-0, 6-2), and Hanadi Rezk won third singles (6-0, 6-0) over Anna Conlon for Monomoy.

    Darcey Addison and Karina Khalsa defeated Lily Russell and Sofia Halunen in first doubles (6-2, 6-1), while Sophia Sarabia and Madi Mahfouz beat Addie Dion and Maeve MachLachlan in second doubles (6-0, 6-4).

    Sharon 4, Martha’s Vineyard 1 : Zoe Trietman defeated Sydney Weiner in third singles (6-0, 6-4) for the Vineyarders (7-7).

    Randolph 4, Sandwich 1 : Tenley Rothera and Cora Tedeschi won first doubles over Tina Cao and Tanya Lee for the Lady Knights (3-12).

    Boys Tennis

    Monomoy 5, Bourne 0 : The Sharks (8-6) have won three of their last four matches as they swept the Canalmen (4-10). Ryan Casey defeated Joziah DeSouza in first singles (6-1, 6-3), while Gavin McDonnell beat Mikey Dankert in second singles (6-1, 6-1) for Monomoy. The Sharks won third singles by forfeit.

    Roman Pavluchenko and Ethan Seufert defeated Doug Lunedei and John Santuchi in first doubles (6-1, 6-1), while Liam Jordan and Stephen Kelley beat Sean Collins and Thomas Dean in second doubles (6-2, 6-1).

    Cape Cod Academy 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 1 : The Seahawks (11-1) have won 11 straight matches as they beat the Dolphins (3-11). Ben Catalano defeated Max Mingo in first singles (6-2, 6-0), while Ayden Naydenov beat Colin Caron (6-0, 6-1) for Cape Cod Academy. Connor Hall and Garret Wilson defeated Mike O’Reilly and Oscar Turek in first doubles (6-2, 6-0), while Declan Livingston and Cooper Hall beat Ryan Clarke and Aidan Karras in second doubles (6-3, 6-3). Landon Ritcher defeated Luke Caleshu in third singles (6-1, 6-2) for D-Y.

    Cohasset 5, Mashpee 0 : The Falcons (8-5) snapped a five match win streak.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Dennis-Yarmouth 10, Falmouth Academy 6 : The Dolphins (3-8) won their first home game since March 28, while the Mariners (2-7) have dropped their last four games. Christian Hanoian finished with three goals and two assists, Matt Brown had three goals, and Drew Reeves played well on defense for Falmouth Academy.

    Sandwich 11, Cohasset 6 : The Blue Knights (12-2) have won nine straight and are unbeaten in in the South Shore League. Shane Corcoran had 12 saves in goal, while Dylan McCabe, Luke Rodgers, and Devin Mahoney played well on close defense for Sandwich.

    Cole Rodgers (two goals, three assists), Dan Oman (three goals), Harry Delman (two goals, one assist), Avery Richardson (two goals), Jack Connolly (one goal, three assists), and Sullivan Gaffney (one goal) led the offense.

    Monomoy 14, Sturgis 3 : The Sharks (13-2) have won six of their last seven games as they they Sturgis (1-8). The Sharks offense was led by Jed Zimmerman (six goals), Tamer Khalil (three goals, six assists), Seamus St. Pierre (two goals), Owen Ramler (one goal, two assists), Aidan Stone (one goal), Braeden Darling (one goal), Charlie Hamilton (two assists), and Jackson Rocco (one assist) for Monomoy. The defense was led by Max Barrett, Braeden Darling, Max Ramler, Jackson Morneau, and Cole Strzepek, while Jake Giorgio had 13 saves in goal.

    Falmouth 11, Nauset 8 : The Clippers (13-3) have won five of their last six games as they beat the Warriors (7-8). Fenton Smith (three goals), Logan Poulin (two goals), Riley Meehan (two goals), Joey Berardi (one goal) led the offense, while Zach Coelho, Brendan Peno, Liam Johnston, Owen Dubis and Mason Santos played well on defense for Nauset.

    Bridgewater-Raynham 12, Barnstable 9 : The Red Hawks (3-11) have dropped their last three games. Doug Carr led the way with eight goals, Chase Field added one goal and one assist, and Ryan Woeller dished out one assist for Barnstable.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Falmouth Academy 15, Dennis-Yarmouth 9 : The Mariners (5-6) have won three of their last four games, while the Dolphins (4-8) have dropped their last two games. Faye McGuire (four goals, two assists, five draw controls), Lizzy Blauer (four goals, two draw controls), Lexi Kalkanis (three goals), Mira Davis (one goal), Thalia O'Neil (one goal), Amelia Russell-Schaeffer (one goal), Susanna Lowell (one goal, one draw control), and Clara Athearn (one draw control) led the offense, while Willow Wakefield had 17 saves in Falmouth Academy. Tessa Hinds scored four goals, while Maeve Dolan had five saves in goal for D-Y.

    Nantucket 18, Cape Cod Academy 4 : The Whalers (15-0) have won 15 straight games as they beat the Seahawks (8-4). Bailey Lower (eight goals, four assists, 18 draw controls), Emerson Pekarcik (six goals, four assists), Mayson Lower (three goals), Suz Peraner (one goal), Cydney Mosscrop (two assists), Evy Stahl (one assist) led the offense, while Claire Misurelli finished with six saves for Nantucket.

    Falmouth 9, Nauset 6 : The Clippers (8-8) defeated the Warriors (8-7) for the second time this season. Julia Kipperman scored twice, while Sienna Reeves, Allie Higgins, Cate Miltimore, and Coral Punch each found the back of the net for Nauset. Sophia Boucher made 16 saves in goal.

    Monomoy 16, Sturgis East 0 : The Sharks (9-6) have won five of their last six games with their first shutout win as they beat the Storm (2-9).

    Abrielle Long (four goals), Lucy Bates (three goals, one assist), Karah Deveau 2(two goals, one assist), Tessa Grodzicki (two goals, one assist), Gabby Basset (one goal, one assist), Sophia Chors (one assist), Cassadi Manchuck (one assist), Lauren Gabri (one assist), and Ana Alexander (one goal; first career goal) contributed on offense for Monomoy. Victoria Letendre (four saves) and Morgan Willis (seven saves) split time in goal.

    Barnstable 18, St. John Paul II 10 : The Red Hawks (7-5) snapped the Lions' (10-5) seven-game win streak. Alyssa McEneaney (seven goals, three assists, five ground balls), Shelby Locascio (four goals, five assists), Emelie Jonsson (three goals, one assist), Chloe Egan (three goals, two assists, five draw controls), Claire Kayajan (one goal), Kayla Grady (one assist) led the offense, while Morgan Mueller had 17 saves in goal for Barnstable.

    Girls Golf

    Barnstable 3.5, Monomoy 2.5: The Red Hawks (5-5) picked up the win over the Sharks (10-2) at Hyannis Golf Course as they share the league championship with a 4-1 league record. Alexa Garthee was the medalist at nine over par 42.

    Nauset 3.5, Dennis-Yarmouth 2.5 : The Warriors (6-5) qualified for the South Sectionals as they beat the Dolphins.

    Girls Track and Field

    Dennis-Yarmouth 121, Falmouth 15: The Dolphins (7-0) won the Cape League Championship. Rose Anna Joachim finished first in the triple jump and 4x100 relay, and placed second in the 100m for D-Y.
