    HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: St. John Paul II girls tennis wins 10th straight to remain unbeaten

    The St. John Paul II girls tennis team remains unbeaten with their 10th straight win as they beat Monomoy 5-0 on Monday.

    Lily Walker defeated Tatiana Malone in first singles (6-2, 6-2), Rosanna Sullivan beat Lilly Gould in second singles (6-2, 7-5), and Bella Scialleti won third singles (6-2, 6-0). over Hanadi Rezk for JPII.

    Grace Walker and Ava P. defeated Karina Khalsa and Darcy Addison in first doubles (6-0, 6-2), and Kayla Katziff and Bridget Moran beat Madison Mahfouz and Sophia Sarabia in second doubles (6-3, 6-3).

    Girls Tennis

    Cape Cod Academy 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 0 : The Seahawks (5-3) have won three of their last four matches as they swept the Dolphins (0-7). Lili Shanahan defeated Olivia Boyer in first singles (6-0, 6-0), Julia McCaffrey beat Kelsang Gurung in second singles (6-2, 6-1), and Jemma Meadows won third singles (6-2, 6-0) over Maddy Burgess for Cape Cod Academy.

    Yoana Dokleva and Molly Lowery defeated Williana Thompson and Aimee Teague in first doubles (6-0, 6-0), while Taylor Bodurtha and Kaleigh Howe beat Maddy Stewart and Willasia Thompson in second singles (6-3, 6-1).

    Fairhaven 3, Bourne 2 : The Lady Canalmen (3-3) snapped a three-match win streak on the road. Lily Russel and Sofia Halunen beat Emily Giammalvo and Madeline Gamelin in first doubles (7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-3), while Ainsley Hopwood and Zoe Noonan defeated Hazel Hochella and Tracy Zhao in second doubles (6-1, 6-0) for Bourne.

    Nauset 4, Sandwich 1: The Warriors (4-3) broke a three-game losing streak as they beat the Lady Knights (2-6). Nicole Boyce defeated Katy Landry in first singles (6-1, 6-2), Anjali O'Brien beat Arianna Tedeschi in second singles (6-3, 6-1), and Sophia Votteler won third singles (6-1, 6-1) over Chloe Cahoon for Nauset. Faye Adams and Elexa Malouin defeated Tenley Rothera and Cara Tedeschi in first doubles (6-1, 6-1).

    Senja Kravitz and Abby Binienda defeated Haley Jackson and Callie Murphy in second doubles (2-6, 6-3, 10-6).

    Mashpee 4, Rising Tide 1 : The Falcons (5-4) won their first road match of the season. Mariele Henley won first singles (6-2, 6-0), while Hannah Rogers won third singles (6-0, 6-0) for Mashpee. Grace Dion and Alina Doolan won first doubles (7-5, 6-2), while Hayden Shvonski and Emily Doolan won second doubles (6-3, 6-2).

    Sharon 4, Martha’s Vineyard 1 : The Vineyarders (3-4) loss stopped a three-match win streak. Ella Moran and Clementine Zeender defeated Emma Gershin and Jada Villaoel in second doubles (6-0, 6-0) for Martha's Vineyard.

    Bridgewater-Raynham 3, Falmouth 2 : The Clippers (2-5) have lost two of their last three matches.

    Boys Tennis

    Monomoy 5, St. John Paul II 0 : The Sharks (5-3) have won three straight as they beat the Lions (1-9). Ethan Seufert defeated Ben Kowal in first singles (6-0, 6-0), Stephen Kelly Monomoy) beat Michael Maynard in second singles (6-1, 6-1), and Trey Lapinski and Patrick McMahon won first doubles (6-1, 6-0) over Zach Jones and Will Sutton for Monomoy. The third singles and second doubles were won by forfeit for the Sharks.

    Barnstable 5, Rockland 0 : The Red Hawks (6-1) have won four matches in a row as they won in an eight-game pro sets doubleheader.

    Brennan Riley defeated Kaden Gersten in first singles (8-2, 8-2), Harry Baroni beat Nick Mostens in second singles (8-3, 8-4), and Connor O'Reilly won third singles (8-3, 8-3) over Will Fina for Barnstable.

    Mike Higginbotham and Dean Cordeiro defeated Mo Asad and Luke Cavvery in first doubles (8-3, 8-1), while Thomas Berger and Andy Coombs beat Mika Herley and Gustavo DePaulo in second doubles (8-6, 8-5).

    Nauset 4, Sandwich 1 : The Warriors (5-2) snapped a two-match slide as they beat the Blue Knights (3-3). Jaron White defeated Kallen Kestenbaum in second singles (6-1, 6-2), while Salvi Cacciola beat Quinn Johnston in third singles (6-3, 6-1) for Nauset. Tom Foley and Joey Smith beat Joey LaScola and Andrew Chanya in first doubles (6-1, 6-3), while Will Murphy and Soven Jones-Carlson defeated Liam McLaughlin and Finn Whelden in second doubles (6-3, 6-1). Andrew Emmel beat Lucas Wilson-Bevington in first singles (6-1, 6-2) for Sandwich.

    Cape Cod Academy 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 0 : The Seahawks (6-1) have won six in a row as they beat the Dolphins (2-6). Ben Catalano defeated Max Mingo in first singles (6-2, 6-2), Ayden Naydenov beat Oscar Turek in second singles (6-0, 6-2), and Connor Hall won third singles (6-2, 6-0) over Collin Caron for Cape Cod Academy.

    Garret Wilson and Declan Livingston defeated Michael OReilly and Landon Richter in first doubles (6-1, 6-3), while Cooper Hall and Henry Daigle beat Aidan Karras and Tyrell Hayles in second doubles (6-4, 2-6, 10-7).

    Mashpee 3, Rising Tide 2 : The Falcons (4-4) snapped a two-game slide. Colin Burdge won first singles (6-1, 6-2), James Benners won at second singles (6-2, 6-1), while Andrew Kelley and Camden Perry clinched a win at first doubles (7-5, 7-5) for Mashpee.

    Falmouth 4, Bridgewater-Raynham 1 : The Clippers (3-4) snapped a two-game losing streak. Quintin Hefferan beat Thomas Hammand in second singles (6-4, 6-3), while Jack Beardsley defeated Zach Foley in third singles (6-2, 6-1) for Falmouth.

    Sam Collins and Jacob Faidell defeated Wyatt Cooley and Andrew Wagner in first doubles (6-2, 7-5), and Sebestian Verslycke and Henry Stoermer beat Travis Conley and Andrew Martin in second doubles (6-3, 6-4).

    Sharon 4, Martha’s Vineyard 1 : The Vineyarders (4-1) recorded their first loss of the season.

    Fairhaven 5, Bourne 0 : The Canalmen (3-5) have dropped their last two matches.

    Girls Lacrosse

    Cape Cod Academy 16, Upper Cape 11 : The Seahawks (5-2) handed the Rams (7-2) their first home loss of the season. Olivia Powers finished the day with seven goals and five assists, Tricia Carr had two goals and four assists, while Liza Joseph was a contributor on defense with her double teams and an interception for Cape Cod Academy.

    Adryanna Turner had seven goals, Alaina Hines added three more goals, and Emma Hanoian chipped in one goal for Upper Cape. Mary King played well with 13 saves in net.

    Sandwich 8, Norwell 7 : The Lady Knights (9-0) remain undefeated on the season with their ninth straight win. Elisabeth Stutzman (one assist), Kolbie Darmon and Aubrie Schwager each scored twice, while Kyla Darmon (one assist), and Avery Cobban each added a goal for Sandwich.

    Old Colony 15, Bourne 10 : Taylor Simard scored five goals for the Lady Canalmen (1-9), but it was not enough for the win. Janice Bouchard had two goals, while Hannah Petrillo, Kalie Surrette and Ava Tosca each added a goal, while Mia Lowden had 13 saves in goal for Bourne.

    Mashpee 12, Sturgis East 7 : The Falcons (4-4) have won three of their last four as they beat the Storm (0-6). Ciara Hendricks led the offense with six goals and one assists for Mashpee. Ari Andrade (three goals, one assist), Amari Mills (two goals, one assist), Sophia Morin (one goal), Claire Howard (one assist) all contributed on offense, while Riley Thomas had 12 saves in goal.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Bourne 14, Upper Cape 3 : The Canalmen (7-3) have their longest win streak of the season with three in a row as they beat the Rams (5-4). Ryan Haden scored five goals, while Sean Kelley added three goals and three assists that led the offense for Bourne. Ty Hawkes (two goals, two assists), Drew Kelley (one goal, three assists), Brett Lucier (one goal, two assists), Brady Banks (one goal, one assist), and Max Ridl ( one goal) all contributed on offense. Max Beals had 12 saves, while Brian Murphy played physical on defense. Jacoby Staruski, Ryan Hanson and Aidan Dimestico each scored for Upper Cape.

    Sandwich 9, Norwell 7 : The Blue Knights (7-2) had a comeback win after they trailed by four goals after the first quarter. Shane Corcoran had 21 saves, with nine being in the fourth quarter, while Devin Mahoney, Luke Rodgers and Dylan McCabe helped the defense hold Norwell scoreless for 36 minutes for Sandwich. Cole Rodgers (three goals, two assists), Daniel Oman (three goals, one assists), Sullivan Gaffney (two goals), Jack Connolly (one goal, one assist). Lincoln Shinn battled on faceoffs.

    Southeastern 14, Cape Tech 0 : The Crusaders fall to 0-8.

    Softball

    Falmouth 18, Sturgis 1 : The Clippers (6-2) had 15 hits, and six players with at least two hits in the win over Sturgis (3-4). Molly Belfiore was 3-for-4, (double, home run, three runs, five RBIs), Christina Femino went 2-for-4, (double, one run, one RBI), Azaria Viall finished 2-for-3, (home run, two runs, three RBIs) and led Falmouth at the plate.

    On the mound, Rylin Briggs pitched three innings, allowed no hits and struck out seven, while Anna Bennett pitched two innings and allowed one hit.

    Somerset Berkley 15, Bourne 1: The Lady Canalmen (1-6) have lost six in a row. Paige Meda and Olivia Meda each had a double and the only hits for Bourne, while Jill Allen scored Meda on an infield ground out.

    Martha’s Vineyard 23, Cape Tech 9 : The Vineyarders (4-4) picked up the win over the Crusaders (2-4). Kylee Brasefield played well on the mound with several strike outs for Martha's Vineyard. Kelly Pacheco prevented stolen bases on passed balls behind the plate for Martha's Vineyard, while Brooke Roten had a big catch in center field that stopped runners from scoring. Nala Pitman went 5-for-5, while her twin sister Madis Pitman went 3-for-3.

    Laura Felix deJesus hit a bomb into deep right field that brought in two, and catcher Mia Gonsalves went 4-for-4 at the plate for Cape Tech.

    Monomoy 11, Wareham 3 : Alana Ljoko picked up the win on the mound for the Sharks (7-1) fourth straight win. Lily Furman went 3-for-4 (two RBIs), Kiley Mawn was 2-for-2 (one RBI), and Kinsey Lister finished 3-for-4 (four RBIs) for Monomoy.

    Baseball

    Monomoy 8, Cape Tech 2: The Sharks (6-4) have won three straight by a combined score of 33-3 as they beat the Crusaders (3-5). Logan Miller pitched a complete game as he gave up two hits, allowed two earned runs and struck out seven for Monomoy. Casey Huse had a three run triple in the 4th inning, Miller had two hits and a run scored, and Finn Hyora scored three runs and had three stolen bases.

    Sandwich 6, Nauset 3 : The Blue Knights (6-2) cooled off the Warriors (9-2) as they stopped their eight-game win streak. Matt Taylor pitched a complete game and scattered seven hits, gave up two earned runs, allowed no walks, and struck out seven for Sandwich. Matt Sullivan had two hits and two runs, while Jack Mulcahy had one hit and two RBIs.

    Ryan O’Keefe went five innings and gave up five runs (three earned), and went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI, while Chase Beach and Ethan Beer each added two hits for Nauset.

    Somerset Berkley 4, Bourne 0 : Ty Kelley had all three hits for the Canalmen (2-6) in the loss. Bryce Young, Dante Migliaccio and Trevor Billard allowed three earned runs over 71 combined pitches over six innings for Bourne.

    Falmouth 12, Sturgis 2 : The Clippers (2-7) picked up their first win since the season opener as they beat Sturgis (1-4). Trey Cardoza pitched four innings and struck out eight for the Falmouth win. Jack Frostholm went 4-for-4 with six RBIs, while Tre’Chaun Days and Max Inman each had two hits and one RBI.

    Carver 8, St. John Paul II 2 : The Lions (6-4) three game win streak came to a halt.

    Boys Volleyball

    Barnstable 3, St. John Paul II 0: The Red Hawks (6-3) won four of their last five matches as they swept (25-9, 25-14, 25-7) the Lions (0-3) for the second time this season. Gabriel Paiva (seven digs), Cullen Lynch (one kill, two digs), Ben Franco (one kill, three assists, two digs) led JPII.

    Girls Golf

    Falmouth 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 2: The Clippers (2-7) picked up their second win of the season as they beat the Dolphins (1-5) at the Falmouth Country Club.

    Girls Track and Field

    The girls track and field MSTCA Relays took place on Saturday and Sunday.

    Division 2

    Barnstable

    Ava Bullock, Chloe Dibb, Nicky Murphy, and Lilly DeDecko placed third in the distance medley (13:03.47) and the 4x1600m relay (23:07.79), while Amalia Thompson, Laik O'Reilly, Makenna Dennis and Dibb finished sixth (4:36.09) in the 1600m sprint medley.

    Division 4

    Falmouth

    The 4x200m Relay team of Jada Smith, Olivia Smith, Tianna Anderson and Leah Forys placed the highest with a 15th place finish with a time of 1:56.68.

    Nauset

    The girls shuttle hurdle team of Mackenzie Still, Samantha McIssac, Haley Labdon, Anika Valli placed sixth (1:12.88).

    Division 5

    Dennis-Yarmouth

    Ava Kvietok placed fourth (30.53m) in the discus throw relay. In the javelin throw relay, Vivian Castano placed 10th (25.37).

    The team of Irelynn Shenk, Rose Anna-Joachim, Tiana Jacques, and Breanna Braham placed third (50.95) in the 4x100m relay.

    Kerri Clark, Sienna Ahern-Harding, Lauze and Braham finished fourth (4:17.31) in the 4x400m relay, and Ashley Daignault, Ahern-Harding, Megan McDowell, and Olivia Pendleton laced fourth (14:04.90) in the girls distance medley.

    The 1600m sprint medley of Clark, Jacques, Braham and Lauze placed sixth (4:34.01), while Pendleton, McDowell, Daignault and Clark finished sixth (10:59.04).

    Arabella Alexander, Emma Gallagher, Phoebe Myers and Zoe Johnson placed eighth (25:55.68) in the 4x1600m relay.

    Rose Anna Joachim, Brianna Hanniford, Kate Popovich, and Kirsten Theloma came in 10th place (1:18.09) of the shuttle hurdle.

    Martha's Vineyard

    Madison Mello placed eighth (9.62m) in the shot put relay, while the team of Caroline Bettencourt, Mello, Camille Brand, and Alexa Schroeder placed fifth (4:30.92) in the 1600m sprint medley.

    Sandwich

    Mia Mulchay placed sixth (26.68m) in the javelin throw relay, while the team of Kylee Beaudoin, Ashlyn White, Lexi Eastman and Avalena Paxton finished seventh (25:53.00).

    Eastman, Megan Chaney, White and Grace Chayna placed ninth in the distance medley, while Sophie Patsavos, Emma Jakubicka, Chaney and Chayna came in ninth place for the 1600m sprint medley.

    Boys Track and Field

    The boys track and field MSTCA Division Relays took place on Saturday.

    Division 2

    Barnstable

    Ronell Armstrong placed sixth (39.70m) in the discus throw relay, while Matheus Cesard finished fifth (44.33m) in the javelin throw relay.

    Ja'Meer Anderson, William Fajardo-Doss, Daniel Sanderson, Cheavaunie Shakespeare placed second (1:31.06) in the 4x200m relay, while Fakjardo-Ross, Jahi Kilburn, Sanderson and Shakespeare finished fourth(43.99) in the 4x100m relay.

    Division 4

    Falmouth

    Terrance Davison, Jacob Lary, Jason Watkins and Jadon Glover placed in the top 10 of the 4x100m Relay as they placed ninth with a time of 46.85.

    Nauset

    Paytah Dill placed 11th in the long jump relay (6.16m), and Isaiah Robinson finished sixth in the triple jump relay (12.22m), while Damain Bebber placed 12th (11.78m).

    The team of Paytah Dill, Reed Dill, Robinson, and Adian Brown won the shuttle hurdle in a time of 1:33.76.

    The 4x100m relay team of Paytah Dill, Robinson, Damian Bebber, and Brown placed second (43.86).

    Brown, Reed Dill, Damian Bebber, and Dominic Bebber finished third (1:33.76) in the 4x200m relay.

    The team of Will Crowell, Tim Sanders, Gabriel Walsh, and Bradford Hagopian placed seventh (8:57.20) in the 4x800m relay.

    Division 5

    Dennis-Yarmouth

    Walter Mayo placed second (1.78m) in the high jump relay, while the team of Jacob Viera, Jose Gonzalez, Casey Fitzgerald and Pierce Johnson finished ninth (12:21.30) in the distance medley.

    Martha's Vineyard

    The 1600m sprint medley team of Lucas Martins, Kaniel Morgan, Luis Costa and Rodeo Purves-Langer placed ninth (3:56.86).

    Sandwich

    Adam Ferreira placed first in the javelin throw relay, while Jake Whelan, Adam Klaiber, Christopher Klein and Connor Bruni finished seventh (12:18.24) in the distance medley.
