Weippe Author Jim Head Reaches Sixteen Books in Circuit Rider Mysteries
Jim Head has written sixteen books in the Circuit Rider Mysteries, a series that follows Reverend Elias Cane, a Methodist circuit rider who sees the good in people and helps those wrongly accused. The milestone comes as Head continues to add to both the Circuit Rider Mysteries and the Making of Elias Cane series. Head, who lives in Weippe, Idaho, writes for adult readers of historical fiction and Christian mystery. His books combine the two genres into one story. The series is set in a world that draws on Head's own interests. “I enjoy watching John Wayne Westerns and mystery television shows like Father Dowling, so I just combined the two into something I felt was missing,” Head said. That combination has produced a body of work that Head says is meant to be enjoyed without what he calls filthy language or sex. “I write books that don't rely on filthy language or sex to hook readers. I want them to just enjoy the read,” he said. Readers looking for historical fiction and Christian mystery books can find the Circuit Rider Mysteries and the Making of Elias Cane series through Jim Head Books. The website lists the available titles. The

Spokane philanthropist’s art donations will help fund wildfire recovery
At the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC), visitors can see two donated paintings whose proceeds will go toward Spokane Complex Wildfire recovery efforts. The pieces were donated by Spokane philanthropist Dave Clack, taken from his personal collection. During a press conference at the MAC on Friday, Clack said he was encouraged by his children to donate the paintings after his wife and fellow philanthropist, Mari Clack, died in 2025.
