2 men charged in different East Valley attacks accept plea deals
Two young men who were charged in connection to two teen violence cases in the East Valley have taken plea deals. Deleon Haynes and Jacob Pennington both pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. They were involved in two different attacks at a Gilbert In-N-Out parking lot.
Branson Public Schools summer sport camps
Branson Public School has announced a number of summer sports camps. The Soccer Footskills camp will take place on Tuesdays from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. from June 4 through July 30 at the Branson High School practice fields. The camp is open to boys and girls from grades 3 to 8, and no registration is required. Participants will need to bring a water bottle, wear tennis shoes or cleats, bring an age-appropriate soccer ball, and desire to become a better player. The lessons will be presented by the Branson High School coaching staff.
2 Trojans trekking to state
Two Southwest High School runners have advanced to the Class 2 State Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Friday and Saturday. At the Class 2, Sectional 3 meet in Blue Eye on Saturday, senior Robert Humphries finished fourth in the mile and 2-mile at Sectional 3 at Blue Eye High School. Humphries ran a 4:39 in the mile and 10:23 in the 3200 meters.
