Arkansas set to host DT getting long list of offers
FAYETTEVILLE — Grand Valley State defensive tackle Jay’viar Suggs has seen his recruiting explode since he entered the transfer portal. Suggs, 6-3, 295, will visit Arkansas today and Sunday. Suggs entered the transfer portal on April 21 and since then offers have rolled in faster than he can probably count them. He is a grad transfer and will have two years to play at his new school.
Williams Baptist softball sweeps doubleheader to close regular season
The Williams Baptist softball team wrapped up its regular season with a sweep of Mission University Saturday afternoon as it celebrated senior day at WBU Softball Field. The Lady Eagles defeated the Patriots 12-0 in five innings in game one and then won a pitchers duel in game two 2-0 to earn the sweep on the day. With the victories, WBU finished the season with a 33-15 overall mark and will enter the American Midwest Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed.
A-State LB Melique Straker projected to be picked in 2024 CFL Draft
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - More than a few Arkansas State standouts are playing in the Canadian Football League. Another Red Wolf is on the radar. Melique Straker is projected to be picked in the 2nd Round of the 2024 CFL Draft. CFL.ca has Straker to Hamilton at 16th overall. 3DownNation predicts the linebacker goes to Winnipeg at 20th overall. The Ontario native is 17th on the latest CFL Scouting Bureau rankings.
Coscetti, Jones capture event titles Saturday for A-State Track & Field
Bella Coscetti and Josh Jones captured event victories on Saturday, capping the final weekend of pre-championships competition for the Arkansas State track and field teams. Coscetti won the women’s pole vault at the Warhawk Classic in Monroe, La., clearing 3.96m (12-11.75), while Kaci Andrus tied for eighth with a clearance of 3.41m (11-2.25). She also placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:04.73.

GOTEMBA, Japan (KAIT) - A former Red Wolf recorded a top 10 finish this weekend on the DP World Tour. Tom Vaillant finished tied for 7th at the ISPS-Handa Championship. The Frenchman shot 67-65-67-70 to post 11-under. It’s his 3rd made cut and his best result on his rookie season on Tour.
A-State's Chen captures discus crown at Music City Challenge
Menachem Chen won the men’s discus throw on Friday to highlight a busy day for the Arkansas State track and field teams across a trio of meets. Chen hurled the implement 54.39m (178-5) to lead four Red Wolves in the top five in the event at the Music City Challenge. Noa Isaia was runner-up with a throw of 51.81m (169-11), with Chris Boyd (50.45m/165-6) and Willem Coertzen (50.03m/164-1) finishing fourth and fifth.
