PIKEVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Pike County man was taken into police custody after allegedly threatening an FBI agent at his home.

In the early morning hours of April 8, court documents say the Pike County Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Keathley Branch in Harold, where an FBI agent had reportedly made a call letting police know that Gabriel Howell, 45, was trespassing on his property and that the agent had detained him.

The agent claimed in court documents that Howell knew where the agent lived and had been to his house on multiple occasions, having destroyed his mailbox the previous week, leaving a threatening note for the agent to find.

Court documents show the agent was alerted to Howell ringing his gate bell around 2:27 a.m. on April 8. When he went to the gate to investigate, Howell was “talking out of his head,” saying he had allegedly been “microchipped” and that the agent was attempting to track him. Upon hearing this, the agent held Howell at gunpoint and contacted authorities.

According to Howell’s arrest citation, he was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and was lodged in the Pike County detention center. He is due in court on August 12.
