Popular Mazeppa restaurant announces new name, relocation to Rochester
A year after announcing its plans to close on the shores of Lake Zumbro, the owners of a Mazeppa restaurant has revealed the business will live on – but in Rochester. The Pondy Restaurant & Bar told its customers last fall that impact of inflation on food prices combined with the customer slow-down at the end of the summer season meant that 2026 would be its last year in Mazeppa.

The Pondy Restaurant & Bar set to relocate, rename in Rochester
(ABC 6 News) — The Pondy Restaurant & Bar has announced it is in the process of relocating and renaming in Rochester. The restaurant will be taking over the former Glynner’s Pub location on Broadway Avenue and will be renaming to Riley’s Restaurant. According to restaurant owners, the goal is to open on December 1.

(ABC 6 News) — A NW Rochester restaurant has permanently closed its doors. Stir Fry Express posted a notice on its doors saying, “Sorry we missed you! Unfortunately, we are closed permanently. Thank you for your support Rochester!” The restaurant did not give a reason for why it has closed.
